Oil City First Night Features Buffalo Birds, Bruce Molsky and More...
Have you made your plans for New Year's Eve yet? There's some fine Old Time music to be heard at the Oil City First Night celebration this year. Scheduled to perform Friday night are The Buffalo Birds from Pittsburgh. The Buffalo Birds are the ideal retrofit for modern times. All the tunes are traditional, the instruments are acoustic, and the people are real.

Also on the schedule is master fiddler Bruce Molsky, "one of the most influential fiddlers of his generation, Bruce is also a remarkable guitarist, banjoist and singer. His high-spirited music melds the archaic mountain sounds of Appalachia, the power of blues and the rhythmic intricacies of traditional African music."

Two good reasons for not staying at home on New Year's Eve. Oil City is less than a two hour drive from Pittsburgh, PA. The entire event takes place at over a dozen different locations in town, each performer doing 4 sets between 8pm and midnight, plenty of opportunities to take in the many different shows and activities offered.
