Cajun, Zydeco and Texas Swing Dances at the Homestead BMNECC Hall.

Grand Bon RienCome dance to the music as it is played in the dance halls
of southern Louisiana and Texas. From September through June, dances will be hosted by local Pittsburgh bands at the BMNECC Hall in Homestead.

Every first and fourth Saturdays ( check schedule to verify dates ) Cajun, Zydeco and Swing dances are alternately hosted by Grand Bon Rien. The Mavens, and The Zydeco Dogz. The live music's driving dance beat, traditional two-steps and waltzes, and tight harmonies sung in Cajun French draw fans from Ohio and West Virginia.

Square and Contra dances are held regularly Friday nights at the Swisshelm Park Community Center, Pittsburgh PA. 

But once every year, just before Christmas, local musicians collaborate to form a grand orchestra, and medleys of holiday music and contradance chestnuts are painstakingly arranged and seriously rehearsed for hours. The dancers come decked out in tuxes and gowns, and The Main Man of Merriment himself, Marlin Whitaker comes to town. Tis glorious.
